http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nigeria-c2970 restrict Germany to 166 in a ICC Cricket League Division Seven match: Cricket News
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Germany-c2904 were restricted to 166 for the loss of nine wickets in a match of the ICC Cricket League Division Seven against Nigeria, at Lobatse Cricket Ground, Gaborone in Bostwana.
The Nigerian captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Endurance-Ofem-c56012, elected to field first after winning the toss. He expected some movement off the pitch and the bowlers didn’t disappoint their skipper at all.
The start to the German innings wasn’t an ideal one, as they lost their skipper Andre Leslie early. The opening batsman only managed to score 10 runs off 24 balls, before he was sent back to the pavilion.
Milan Fernando was joined by the team’s first-drop, Asif Khan, who also keeps the stumps for his team. The pair put together 39 runs for the second wicket and things appeared to be heading towards the right directions for the team. However, the wicket-keeper
batsman gave his wicket away after adding 12 runs to the total.
Wickets started to tumble for Germany, as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajeev-Vohra-c83483, Rishi Pillai and Farooq Ahmed got out within a total of 100. The team was struggling at that stage with five batsmen sent back to the pavilion for just 97 runs on the board.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Srinivas-Satyanarayana-c90825 and Shakeel Hassan offered some support to Fernando, as the team reached 133 for seven in the 43rd over. The biggest blow for Germany was the downfall of their opening batsman Fernando, who played brilliantly. He scored
82 runs from 130 balls with the help of six fours and two massive sixes. However, there was no support for the 39-year-old batsman, as wickets kept on falling from the other end.
Tail-enders Rana Iqbal and Kashif Haider scored 10 and 13 respectively, guiding their team’s total above 150. There were also 15 extras in the innings, which helped the German team to some extent.
The Nigerian captain was the pick of the bowlers for his team, picking up two wickets for just 24 runs in his 10-over spell. He got good support from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Joshua-Ogunlola-c69525, who also dismissed two batsmen.
Germany will have to bowl extremely well in order to dismiss the opposition within their total of 166. Their bowlers will be required to take some early wickets to pressurise the Nigerian batsmen otherwise it will be a one-sided affair.
