Nigeria is a good place to work, live and tour. It all depends on your mind set and the level of your literacy. You look for quick money anywhere in the world, you look for quick trouble. Get your details confirmed from the right authority. The scam look for the fools, don't be the fool.

I'm sure that most countries have their share of scam artists.

It also happens in Fiji, albeit to a lesser extent than Nigeria.

There are vendors who sell wooden swords on the streets of Suva, who are extremely pushy to sell you something.  I learned very quickly NOT to shake the hands of anyone selling merchandise.  They will pull you in, and sell you something that you don't want.  

The same thing happened in Paris, where there are those who will want to drag you into an adult X-rated club, to try to get you to spend your money.
