Night Singer to pair up wins by bagging the Kilkenny Handicap (Division II) at Gowran Park on 12th April
The second division of the Kilkenny Handicap will get staged at Gowran Park over a mile on Thursday, 12th April. Contesting in the race that offers the €3,850 purse, are sixteen four-year and older thoroughbreds.
An entry who has posted a victory recently is Night Singer, Oratorio’s four-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Dream Vision. He has had three outings already and has improved through them steadily. His seasonal debut had him finishing tenth which by the second start of the season turned into a sixth position and then finally a win.
Night Singer finished last in the Group Bookings At Dundalk Rated Race on 3rd February at Dundalk over a mile and two and a half furlongs. The race was won by Aragorn Rouge who was soon joined by Solid Air on the other end of the wire.
Concluding the race third was Silverlord while the 6/4 favourite of the race, General Bunching, finished fifth on the line-up of ten.
Second start of the season surfaced in the form of Leucillin On Facebook Handicap on 2nd March at Dundalk over a mile and four furlongs. The race was won by Mosstown while qualifying as the runner up was Horsofadifrentcolr.
Settling behind the runner up was Daytime Dreamer while the 7/2 favourite of the race, Saint By Day, finished eighth on the field that was set for thirteen to race.
Night Singer eventually bagged a race through the third attempt of the season, he won the Mallow.IE Apprentice Handicap on 7th April at Cork over a mile and half a furlong. Riding with J. Brennan, Night Singer led the runner up, Invincible Don, by 2 ¼ lengths.
Coming at terms with the third position in the race was the 5/1 favourite, Legendary Times.
Night Singer should hold on to the progress that he has made through the three starts and make it reflect in the race today which gives him the chance of posting the second success of the season.
He should make the most out of the lineup that is pretty harmless with not the slightest chance of being challenging. The only factor that might make Night Singer struggle a bit would be the long break out of which the majority of the line-up is coming.
