Night Smoke and Highview Dasher to collide in the www.igb.ie A1 Dual Distance 525/550 Semi-Final
The Grade A1 www.igb.ie A1 Dual Distance 525/550 Semi-Final has pulled together Night Smoke, Durrow Abbie, Skerries Road, Dog Vader, Highview Dasher and Clarkes Impact. The race will be held over 525 yards flat at Shelbourne Park on Wednesday, 14th November. The prize money set for the race is €50. One of the candidates who have a clear edge over the rest is the two-year-old black dog, Night Smoke.
The R. Roberts trained has already set his feet into the open level. The lightly raced has only graced the race tracks thrice and that too at the open level exclusively.
Ace Hi Rumble’s son bagged the prize money of the career debut on 6th October, 2012 at Limerick over 525 yards. He broke from the fifth trap, and was difficult to contain after that. The two-year-old out of, Casual Steps, ran in clear, and stayed strong until the wire, crossing it in 28.90 seconds.
He defeated Glory Champ by 1 ½ lengths.
The 2 to 1 entry of the race tonight could not sustain the form for the starts that followed next, Night Smoke ended third and then fourth in the races that he took part in.
The black hound has drawn the first trap for the first time, and it will also be the first time for him to race at a level other than the open.
Another highlight entry for the race is the two-year-old black b***h, Highview Dasher, who is quite experienced at the level that awaits him tonight.
Vans Escalade’s daughter won the Grade A4 Ladbrokes Mobile App A4 525 Final on 13th September, 2012 at Shelbourne Park over 525 yards.
She was challenged when racing in the third position, but bucking up got her the race in 29.02 seconds. Her success found Ballyhill Reward qualifying as the runner-up after missing the winner’s position by 1 ½ lengths.
Her achievement at the same level came in the form of 1890 269 969 A1 525 on 17th October, 2012 at Shelbourne Park over 525 yards. The blue trap found the contest tricky when racing in the third position, and finally led in for the wire making it across in 29.56 seconds.
The 7 to 2 entry will race out of the fifth trap tonight.
