  1. Apart from what has already been said.  You should always on your first night fish have a friend with you as it can get spooky some times.  We do night fishing at my venue, check us out at www.chateaudetigny.com

  2.    I guess you are in the U.K as you specify coarse fishing, first of I would suggest you find a mate to go with it's much safer than being on your own.

Then maybe try to decide what kind of fish you want to fish for,or do you just want to catch fish in general,do you prefer float fishing or ledgering.

It may be easier for you to start by going out and fishing into darkness, say starting at 18.00 and fish until midnight so you get an idea of what it's like before you go for the whole night.

I would forget the tent as most waters don't allow them, and try separateate the idea of camping from that of fishing as they are completely different.

      I hope that helps

  3. bait

  4. day gear

    light up bobbers

    gas latern

  5. in saltwater you need big hooks and strong leaders because the night feeders are usually some kind of shark family member, rays and skates included. I like to throw leadheads with swim baits at night but I fish the breakwater walls around all the bays and harbors using orange and pink colors (shrimp paterns) I crank down my drag cast to the rock pile and close the reel letting it pendulum down parrelel to the rock stack. you will get bit and it's a big fish in a rock hole that comes out to eat what is cracefully falling right in front of his starving nose and when they hit you have to pull them out and really work them hard away from home. Hence the drag being closed. Your tips have got to be stiff heavy action and a high speed rell is needed also.

for freshwater bass use black baits and top water during moons and spinners and cranks on new moons. for catfish the worse it smells the faster they bite. For anything else good luck mate practice and keeping records of what works, works the best

  6. you need luminous beads/line so as the fish would stay interested.lights so you can see when u bait up.food so u wont get hungry n drinks too.cell so when u need a call.

  7. Some good suggestions allready :) you may also need some glow in the dark floats depending what type of fishing you do ,, also a small radio with headphones as it can get quite lonely at night and a bit spooky ! and last but not least a small bottle of whisky or rum to keep ya warm ;)

  8. fishing equipment

    tent

    sleepingbag/blanket

    food

    1 hob gas stove

    equipment for making tea.

    a lamp.

  9. If you are fishing for catfish the beads are not necessary as their sense of smell is VERY high.

I would say...bring a lantern..and if its a small coleman gas powered one.

Bring an extra propane tank..(the mall ones)

    BUG SPRAY!!!!!!

Some chicken liver as bait..your usual gear and a big net!

  10. Take exactly what you would take fishing on a day time, just take a headlamp and lantern and enjoy it. Extra food is also a good idea, especially something warm and something with sugar in it, as temperatures can drop on a night time, an extra waterproof jacket is a good idea as fishing in the dark and in the rain is not good fun, it will just leave you irritated and cold.
