Very good work on this question Mr GTI.

Do we know what tyre's Casey was running? To be a full ( nearly ) second ahead of say 4th or 5th place is normal, but to be that far ahead of 2nd is just amazing.......... which is what Casey has been for the last 15 months now !

Well done to the " Techtwaa " boys !! [ copywrite Dingo ] And very good to JT for really finding his grove on a new bike / track / tyres / team .... etc.

So ........ to answer your question : Yes, it is Casey who is doing all the work for Ducati, the other guys are nowhere.

I read a great interview with John " Hopper " Hopkins in the months PB magizine, where he said, " last year Casey got married, then he married his girlfreind "

Meaning he married his bike !! Dare I say it, a combo of bike / rider / tyre & team to match ones in the past such as Ago , Doohan & of course Rossi.

Neil, you make a good point and one that I have endorsed all along about the Ducati. It really ticks me off when people say Casey only won because he was on the best bike, as this is simply not true. I was pleased to read a quote from Loris recently and he himself said that only Casey can ride the Ducati in the way that it needs to be ridden to get the best out of it. That is coming from the man who was on the bike last year and one of the riders in the paddock I respect most. It does not mean that Casey is necessarily the best rider in the paddock but he is the best for that bike and HE deserved his title along with Ducati for making a bike and putting it together with the rider best suited for it.

The test times are pretty meaningless really but I am really pleased to see Dovizioso right up there and showing that smug git Lorenzo how it should be done.

yer it is only testing but caseys always seems to be top of the time sheets doesnt he, i hope vale is holding something in reserve otherwise we will have a championship where everybody is fighting for second, nice to see james up there makes me proud to be a yorkshireman!!

  the results so far dont show a real reflection of the things to come suppose a lot of them will be testing settings etc for the real race, god help us if casey is on the money already , and yes its nice to see dovisioso up there above wats his name

Like you say verrrrrry interesting!, I agree with wiggy about Stoner being the right guy on the right bike at the right time - It appears the Duke is a Handful (no surprise there!) and needs a lunatic to get the best out of it!

I too think it odd the Techtwaa fella's have hit the ground running (so well!) so lets hope that bodes well for the season.
