Nike 6.0 to revolutionize female freestyle-surfing with their latest film “Leave A Message”
Nike 6.0 is all set to take the female surfing to an entirely new level with its latest film project, “Leave A Message”, which will be realeased on 24th May. The film will be featuring six of the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World
Tour’s most prominent and exciting female surfers exhibiting style and innovation while surfing freestyle.
With every passing day, the sport of surfing is progressing. However, with the release of the upcoming film, the evolution of female surfing is bound to jump a few paces. Nothing will ever be the same once the world is exposed to the mind-blowing surfing
film that promises to impress and inspire an entire generation of female surfers as well as the males surfers. Some are claiming it to be one of the most impressive female free-surf compilations of all time.
“The goal was to make the best women's surf movie ever,” says Nike 6.0 team manager Jason Kenworthy. “We spent the last two years taking trips all over the world, and I'm confident that when it's all done we'll have accomplished our goal.”
The cast of “Leave A Message” is comprised of the most talented female surfers in the world. The cast of professional surfers includes the Carissa Moore from Hawaii. Just 18 years of age, the sensational surfer is the current ASP World No.1, along with the
current US Open champ, which earned her the richest prize purse in women’s surfing history.
Also starring in the film is the 20-year-old Hawaiian, Coco Ho. The extremely talented surfer is currently ASP World No.5. The 19-year-old Australian Laura Enever will also be featured in the film as she shows off her skills on the board. The fiery rookie
is currently 3rd in ASP Women’s ranking.
The film will also be featuring America’s 16-year-old Lakey Peterson, 17-year-old Malia Manuel from Hawaii and the 20-year-old Monica Byrne-Wickey, also from Hawaii.
A trailer of the upcoming film was released by Nike 6.0 this week in order to let the world have a little taste of the phenomenon film that is coming their way. However, there is almost a month before the film makes its’ premiere.
Surfing films are nothing new. Neither is the impact that they have on the sport. The Taylor Steele film “Momentum” in 1991 helped to redefine the concept of surfing and acted as an inspiration for the likes of Kelly Slater, Shane Dorian and Rob Machada,
who all ended up playing a significant role in the development of the sport themselves.
“Leave A Message” is expected to do exactly what “Momentum” did two decades ago, but this time for the females. Arguably, the six twenty-and-below ladies, featured in the film, surf better than 99% of the male surfers and if they are letting loose in the
film, then it is bound to be something epic.
