Niki Lobintsev captures Men’s 200m freestyle gold – Swimming news
Niki Lobintsev of Trojan-CA captured gold medal of Men’s 200m freestyle on day one of the 2013 Speedo Grand Challenge at Woollett Aquatic Centre on Friday, May 24.
The 24-year-old Lobintsev crushed hopes of his opponents in the four-lap discipline and sprinted his way towards the finishing end for gold medal. With his astonishing pace, he managed to ascend on podium for first position.
Lobintsev showed no mercy to his opponents in the 200m discipline and rushed his way towards the wall for the title with an effort of 1 minute and 48.06 seconds.
The champion was chased by Dimit Colupaev of UN-20-CA, who was 0.71 seconds slower and transpired on the finishing end by producing a time of 1 minute and 48.77 seconds.
The second best finisher was chased by Ale Sukhorukov of Trojan-CA, who was 0.19 seconds apart and occupied third position of the race with the timing of 1 minute and 48.96 seconds.
Fourth finest spot of the race was obtained by Domin Meichtry of Trojan-CA, who was one and a half body length behind and settled on the finishing end with the timing of 1 minute and 50.58 seconds.
Meichtry was chased by Max G Jaben of UN-20-CA, who was nearly 1.70 seconds slower and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 52.20 seconds for fifth place.
Sixth fastest spot of the event was secured by Titus A Knight of GWSC, who was just 0.21 seconds slower from his former finisher with an effort of 1 minute and 52.41 seconds.
Subsequently, Knight was followed by Andrew P Brady of NCA-SI, who was 1.46 seconds slower and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 53.87 seconds.
Eighth spot of the race was obtained by Chase E Bloch of CLSS-CA, who remained 0.59 seconds slower and posted an effort o1 minute and 54.46 seconds.
In addition, Lobintsev was extremely happy with his notable effort in the 200m discipline and articulated his desire of accomplishing the same at prize ceremony of the tournament. Furthermore, the position holders collected medals and accolades at the victory
ceremony of the tournament.
