Nikkor Lens for Nikon D700?

For a Nikon D700 are these two lenes bellow going to to be compatible?

Nikkor 28mm f3.5

Nikoor 50mm f1.4

I have these two lenses from my father's old F3. there quite old.

  1. The 2 lenses that your father's will work with your D700. The focusing will be manual of course and some of the features from the flash metering and exposure modes like Program will not be available. The D700 user manual is not yet available at the www.nikonusa.com site yet so I will post the D3 link so you can download that manual and you can read about manual focusing and the set up needed for using Nikon Ai lenses that you showed here.

Those lenses can be used with the D700, but as you know, only in the manual focus mode.  I have three lenses that are maybe even older than your dad's old lenses (circa 1970's) I still use from time to time (500 mm f/8 mirror, 105 mm f/2.5 and 20 mm f/3.5)  All you have to do is use the cameras menu and set the non-CPU lens data when using those lenses on the camera.
