Nikola Kalinic hints at Blackburn exit, Stephen Ireland wishes to make Newcastle United move permanent
Nikola Kalinic prepared for Blackburn exit
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nikola-Kalinic-c27943, the 23-year-old Blackburn Rovers striker, revealed he was prepared to start looking for another club if he was unable to secure his place in the first team once again.
The Croatian made an impressive start at Ewood Park but has fallen out of favour recently, which has caused the striker to issue a warning to the club about his possible departure.
Kalinic joined the English Premier League side from Croatian side Hajduk Split in the summer of 2009 for an estimated fee of £6 million. In his debut season with the Rovers he went on to make 33 appearances and scored 7 goals. This season he has not featured
as regularly, only making 18 appearances but has still managed to score 6 goals.
The Croatian striker revealed he was unsure why Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean had decided to leave him out in recent fixtures. Kalinic has not made an appearance for the Rovers in their last six games, not even making it to the bench in the last two Premier
League fixtures. The young striker is unsure of his status with the club and could very well be on his way out if things don’t change.
Kalinic said while he was contracted to the club for two more years, he would have to search for another club where he would be guaranteed first team football. The Croatia international said while speaking to reporters, “I don't know anything about me being
transfer-listed. I still have a contract for the next two years but, yes, if nothing changes before the summer, then I will have to find a new club.”
Stephen Ireland to Newcastle permanently
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stephen-Ireland-c34149, the 24-year-old Aston Villa midfielder currently on loan to Newcastle United, revealed his desire to make his move to St James’ Park permanent. Ireland arrived at Newcastle in the January transfer window but has not been able to feature
for the Magpies, having been sidelined with an injury. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew recently hinted on making the move permanent and Ireland seems to agree.
Ireland expressed his desire of moving to Newcastle on a more permanent basis, he said while speaking to reporters, “This is a good place for me to settle in the next few months, and who knows what could happen in the summertime. It could turn out to be
permanent. We don't know, or it could turn into a loan again. We will see what happens in the next two months.”
Ever since Gerard Houllier took charge of Aston Villa, Ireland has not had too many opportunities to play, during his time at Villa Park, Ireland only made 12 appearances. Ireland said, “I have not played competitively for so long and it has been difficult.
When the new manager came in at Villa, I was left out of eight squads in a row - and that hurts.”
