I have a Nikon 4600 Coolpix camera that is about 2 years old.

I tried to turn it on today, the lens extended but there was nothing on the LCD screen. The little green light on top of the camera blinked, then nothing.

Replaced the batteries but to no avail.....

Any ideas???

  1. sorry to say that you have to take your camera to the repair shop.  the best thing you can do is take your camera to a local camera shop like Ritz or Wolf camera shop and you can get a free estiment!!

The bad news is that the repair will take about 6 to 8 weeks to get repaired and my guess is that the computer in the camera is the problem!!

this will not be a cheep fix!!

    Sorry for the bad news's,

    Bob

  2. Has it been a long time since you used it?  The batteries that were in it may have leaked.  Look at the battery terminals in your camera and see if there is a greenish deposit on them.  Carefully clean them with a pencil eraser, blowing all the pencil shavings out while you clean it.  If any remains, dip a q-tip in some rubbing alcohol and wipe them clean.  Let dry and try new batteries.  If that doesn't do the trick, then your camera has suffered internal damage and needs to be replaced.  Repair will be too expensive.
