Question:

Nikon Coolpix L10--black screen?

I was taking pictures when all of a sudden the screen went black. It still displays the pictures I'd already taken just fine but the new ones are all showing up as just black squares. It's like a lens cap is on or something, but I didn't touch the lens or do anything unusual to it in between when it was working and when it wasn't. I've tried turning it on and off, changing the batteries, and gently wiping off the lens with a clean cloth. I can't see anything on/covering the lens. Help??

  1. Sounds like the image sensor is bad. Send it back to Nikon, even if it is out of warranty, with a short letter of what you have explained, and they will replace it, usually free of charge.
