Nikon D40x Shutter Count?

I'd like to know how I can look at how many times the shutter has been clicked on my D40x.

  1. It should be in the EXIF data of the last shot you took. You can find that with some editing software or there are EXIF viewers ( not all read deep enough to get the data you want these both should )

    If you have Photoshop CS  open your image and then go to File->File Info then go to "Advanced" then look at the field "http://ns.adobe.com/exif/1.0/aux/, you'll find "aux:ImageNumber:" which should be the total number of clicks on the shutter.
