  1. Personally, I would not go for either of those Digital SLR's; I'd go for the new Canon Rebel XSi (450D) which has recently made its debut. It has a new CMOS chip and DIGIC III image processor for better picture quality. And it has 12.2 megapixels and Live View mode. Check it out! Best thing is it is between the price range of the Rebel XTi and the Nikon D60. Costs about $900 along with 18mm-50mm image stabilized zoom lens.

  2. The answer to this question is quite rhetorical. The nikon d60, and the canon digital rebel xti are quite similar. However, they do have their little differences which make one better than the other. Let's compare some of the things between them.

    The L.C.D Screen

Equal, they each have the same two and a half inch screen, both great for comparing images, but neither have live view mode.

    Cleaning System

They each have a similar cleaning system, which activates everytime you turn on the camera, and is a good feature you need on a digital single lens reflex camera

    Megapixels

They each have the same ten megapixels, so that isn't a difference either, this is getting harder to narrow down =(

    Price

They are about the same price of 660$, which is fairly reasonable- considering where they are in the camera line of their manufacturer.

I take back what i said, the nikon and the canon are basically the same, just the appearance, one is a little smaller, and one is a little bigger. The nikon d60 and the canon xti are both starter cameras, and the decision is up to you. But, because of it's " recentness ", i would go with the nikon d60. So, get the nikon d60

Sorry i changed my mind so many times, it was hard to come to the conclusion that you need to get the nikon d60

    Regards

    Nathan

  3. Nikon vs Canon. You really need to go to a real store and handle both of them. cycle through the menus a bit and see which one you like. They set up their menus differently and you may not like one or the other. That being said they are both good cameras. The D60 is newer buthy the XTi is no slouch.
