Hello,

I just got my Nikon D80, and Lens (vr 18-200mm)

I bought them here in england.

Should they be made here or will the fact that they were produced in Taiwan make no difference to the quality of the camera.

  1. Far as I know, ALL D80s are made in Thailand.

    Mine was!

    Not a problem!

  2. Nothing's really made in the UK, kid. Nor in the US. Mullard or Grundig might've been the last; went bankrupt in the 80's, other makes things elsewhere. For us, Zenith, also 1980's. Your D-80 is made in Thailand, but it's probably no different than prior Nikons made in a first-world nation. See, rising tiger nations will make you whatever you want. Even the Chinese will give real quality, but only if a company like Nikon or Sony wants to pay for said quality. Based upon my Japanese-engineered Chinese-assembled Kodak digicam, you might be surprised how good Thai assembly practices are.
