  1. Nikon DSLR's are excellent cameras.  Here are the results from last years consumers observations.

My new favorite Nikon is now the D300 ... a truley amazing camera body.

The Nikon D40 is perhaps one of the best entry level DSLR's available at this time.  Under $470 for the camera and a AF-S 18-55 mm ED lens.

The Nikon's work so well, they are the choice of may pro photographers.

Easy?  If you start using the program mode, then yes, but they have enough features, you can go beyond that and start taking total control of your cameras features

  2. In nikon there are several DSLR series. And each depends on its specification. Two weeks back i bought Nikon D60 and its handy and very comfortable to use. It has several digital options.

I suggest to go for it on ur birthday a worth for ur money. Check out the features here http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/...

  3. Hey, i have a nikon digital single lens reflex camera. And, i can proudly say that i have no complaint. Except that it doesn't have a live-view mode, which isn't necessary in the least. That's a feature of digital point and shoots. Don't get me wrong, it would have been nice to have. The nikon d40 have six megapixels, a two and a half inch screen, it has manual controls, and everything you'd ever want. The picture quality far outshines the little point and shoots on the market today. You can change the lens, and get more creative, and change the dimensions of your pictures. The nikon d40 is a beginner digital single lens reflex camera, and i don't think you'll be dissapointed in the least. The picture quality is just amazing, i'll show you some of my work from my http://flickr.com acount :P

See, i'm fourteen, and i can even get such good pictures on the nikon d40 digital single lens reflex camera. I think you'll love it too, it's like 465$, with the 18-55mm lens, which isn't tht bad considering that techinally it's a professional camera. I love photography alot, and i thank my nikon d40 for that

    Get the nikon d40,

    Nathan

  4. For DSLR cameras asking if they are easy to use question means you are not willing to give some effort to learn about real photography.Sorry but it smelled like that. But if you get D60,and be patient, and if you are not just going to use Auto mode for everything and promise to learn some technics than just buy it.After you get used to it,you won't want to use your P&S anymore.Believe me.Good luck.
