Nikon coolpix L11 memory card problem

I have the Nikon coolpix L11 camera and a transcend 1gb memory card. The memory card will no longer stay locked into place in the camera. ive removed the memory card 10 times before. my guess is the locking mechanism got messed up. what do i do?
