im skipping the d40x coz it coz its phased out here...

d**n... the d40x is MY BUDGET but do you think its worth buying the more expensive d60 for the dust reduction and 4MP more?

i dunno... its said on most reviews and forums that the D60 is kind of a waste of money...

is it true?? i think im part hesitant to buy the d40 coz its an older model...

i don't really care much about the VR lens. im sure im gonna take shots that are fine with a non VR lens..

the d40 and the d60 both have no auto focus motor in the body so why buy it?

I DUNNO? should i get it?

  1. You should really buy the nikon d60

    http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B00...

it doesn't have any " bad " reviews on http://amazon.com, most people say that they like it, it only got one " three star " review.

You should get the nikon d60. We all know that the nikon d40 and the nikon d60 are the exact same camera, the only thing different if the dust reduction ( which the d40 doesn't have, and the dust accumulate, and trying to clean it can sometimes damage the sensor, you that's sort of necessary ), four more megapixels ( which doesn't make a " huge " difference, but makes some difference i guess ). The nikon d60 was the upgrade to the d40x/d40 cameras. I have the nikon d40, and i love it to death, the picture quality is just great, i couldn't ask for more in a camera :). But, if i had more money, i would've gotten the nikon d60 because of the four more megapixels and the dust reduction technology with the nikon d40 series lacks, and is really needed.

But, if you want to save some money, there'd be no harm in getting the nikon d40, it's a great camera, and it's not a " bad " camera at all, the picture quality is of a " professional " standard, as long as you know what you're doing. The color in the photos are fantastic. Don't mind the six megapixels, but mind the lack of a dust cleaning system.

If You Have The Money, Get The d60,

oh, and you should get VR ( vibration reduction ), is much better than the kit lens in the nikon d40 kit, trust :P

  2. The D40 is a great camera for it's cost.

I've worked with both. They're essentially the same camera.

The only reason why I would purchase the D60 over the D40 is the D60 has more pixels.

Other than that I would choose the D40 because it fits your budget.
