Nikon d40 ?

Question

I've been doing a lot of research and i'm still not quite positive but is this a good deal?

but one more thing,

6.1 megapixels.. how large can i print my pictures?

That's a pretty good deal, but I found an exceptional deal for you.  How about spending TEN dollars more and getting the same camera and basic lens, but getting a "VR" 55-200 lens instead of the non-VR lens?  This does not give you the camera bag, but who needs that when ten bucks more gets you a "VR" lens.  My wife had (has) both 55-200 lenses and there is just no reason to get the non-VR lens when you can have it for only $10 more.  Trust me.

You will still need to buy a memory card, but the ritz kit doesn't include one either.  I recommend a genuine Sandisk Ultra II (60X) or Extreme III (133X) of at least 1GB - preferably 2 GB - for your camera.  Lexar is another excellent card supplier and they have the "Professional" 133X as well as the Platinum II 80X to choose from.  Both Lexar and Sandisk come with image recovery software that you copy onto your computer before you format the card and both have limited lifetime warranties.  Nikon recommends these brands, as well as Toshiba and Panasonic.  The manual states, "Operation is not guaranteed with other makes of cards."

oh, and you can print your pictures up to any size, the megapixels don't really matter with that aspect of photography.

I think you could get that for cheaper. It's a great camera though, i've had it for like a month:)

That price seems within several dollars the lowest from any REPUTABLE dealer, any more research would probably cost you more in time than what you will save.

Without re-sampling and other post production work, the realistic largest size you can print with 6.1 MP is 8 x 12.
