  1. My first walk around was the Tamron 28-300mm--macro..It is made with Vibration Compensation now and sells new for a little less than $600..Which i would suggest you purchase..Not too wide as on the D80 there is a multiplier of approx. 1.5 to find 35mm equivalent..so if you want wide landscape captures not best recommendation..Italy trip found 800 images taken and I was very satisfied with all..

    I bought mine Body Only..

  2. it usually comes with a lens. Nikkor 18-55 or 18-135...

What lens do you want, depends on the use. For example, I prefer Nikkor 12-24 mm for landscapes, Macro 105 mm for macros..etc

  3. The Nikon D80 is sold with or without a lens. If you allready own a Nikon SLR and have lenses then you can buy the body only.

If this is your first Nikon SLR then buy the camera with the kit lens. It is usually an 18-55mm zoom lens. There are other lenses you can choose as well. A very popular lens these days is the 18-200mm lens. It costs about as much as the camera body but many people feel it is the only lens they will ever need. It covers a great focal length range from wide angle to telephoto.
