Nina Carberry celebrates her first Grand National winner at Fairyhouse – Horse Racing Update
Owner Nina Carberry’s favourite race-horse, Organisedconfusion gave a spectacular performance and managed to claim the Grade A Ladbrokes Irish Grand National meeting at the Fairyhouse race-course on Monday.
The race that was run over a distance of 3 miles and 5 furlongs, as it was contested by some of the top colts of age five and above.
According to the reports, Organisedconfusion trains under the care of Nina’s uncle Arthur Moore. Those who witnessed the meeting were reported as saying that Organisedconfusion was seen to hold off the field very impressively in the marathon handicap at
the Fairyhouse race-course. The race-horse put in a brilliant display of power and elegance, surprising many as he took top honours.
Organisedconfusion was sent out to contend the race as a 12-1 favourite. Nonetheless, not many were expecting him land the event in first place. It was intriguing to see how he managed to hold off the 16-1 favourite, Western Charmer, by an amazing distance
of five lengths. The latter colt put in a strong race and was the second place finisher. Meanwhile, the third place was bagged by 6-1 favourite contender Sunnyhillboy.
It was not a very good day for the famed trainer Willie Mullins as he is still seeking his first victory at the Irish Grand National meeting. His trainer Quiscover Fontaine only managed to finish the Grade A event in fourth place. He was saddled by the celebrated
trainer as a 33-1 favourite.
The Grand National events are given a great deal of importance in the sport of horse racing as these are one of the most prestigious racing events of the season. After the John Smith’s Grand National event, the Irish Grand National meeting that is taking
place at the Fairyhouse race-course is in the lime-light.
The fans and connections of the race-horses that are featuring in the event, but also the sports analysts were looking forward to this exciting meeting. Needless to say, the mega event is contended by some of the best race-horses of the country.
