Ninja 250r or 650r?

im turning 15 and i want to get a streetbike for my birthday..would i be able to ride these bike legally??i would be basically a car for me for the next 2 years untill i get one and then itll be a weekend bike and sometimes on the weekdays..im a first time bike rider and i have a uncle who has a yamaha r1 and a yz250 and is good with bikes who can help me around..but the main point is..is this a good bike for a eginner,which one should i get..and whats the top speed for both of them

  1. you don't want the 250. about 2 weeks on that thing and you'll wish you got a real bike and not a moped.

    besides that, although the 250 was all updated this year, the 650 is more advanced. it is fuel injected while the 250 isn't so that's reason enough for me to like it. and they really emphasized with the 650 that it was built for comfort, so that's a bonus.

    you have to be 16  to drive them both legally, and top speed's a horrible way to decide what bike to buy, but the 250 is about 82mph and the 650 about 136mph. but go to a dealer and sit on both and see which feels good to you.


  2. If you cant get your automobile license, then you're not going to be able to get your motorcycle license.  You could however step down to a 49cc scooter... enjoy

  3. The 250r will go to 110 mph. The 650r will go to 140.

    Get your auto license. Then take an MSF safety course

    Then you will have the basics for handling a 250cc bike.

    The 650 may be over your head. Always remember that you can sell your smaller bike once or if you outgrow it.
