Ok so heres the deal I have a ninja 650r that i got a few months back and it wasnt the bike i originally wanted but i had to make the parents happy so i settled on it. I was just wondering how much difference itll make if i end up trading it for something like a R6 or 600rr or one of the gixxers like a 600 or 750? Is the power really that much more since ive been riding this one for a few months and have taken the riders safety courses?

  1. Any of the bikes mentioned will be notably faster/more powerfull, since the 650r is a sort of "comfortable commuter that looks sporty" bike. Also, they will have a more extreme riding position and quicker handling. Be carefull as some of these have handling so precise they are "twitchy"

  2. all good bikes...i like the look of the R6....they  only go as fast asyou want them to...and well done on the safty courses..

  3. Obviously, a 600cc or 750cc supersport will have more power than a Ninja 650R.

With your riding experience on your 650R, though, you should by now have the skill and maturity to handle a supersport.  That really depends on your attitude when you have more power.  If you are a safe rider, you may never even find out how fast and powerful a supersport is compared to your 650R.

The worst will be the change in your insurance. For most insurance companies, a Ninja 650R is a sport/touring bike.   A bike like a Gixxer or R6 is a supersport and insurance is very high for those especially for younger riders.
