Ninjitsu is a modern version of Ninjustu. Google ninjitsu and see for yourself. So hehehe I did not actually spell it wrong. Oh but thanks for that correction because I don't recall the spelling of the word being my question. Wow your input is so...so...so... whatever!

  1. It's Ninjutsu not Ninjustsu and Ninjitsu. They are synonyms. The proper spelling is Ninjutsu.

  2. Ninjutsu and Ninjitsu are just different spellings similar to jujitsu and juijitsu.

I do believe that Stephen K Hayes uses "ninjitsu" because of a falling out with the grand master of ninjutsu.

So its the same art but just an attempt to differentiate.

  3. Actually it is the same thing. Ninjutsu is written in Kanji(ideograms) it wasn't written with the alphabet. So, neither way it is pronounce the same.

  4. Please understand that the difference only has significance to those of us that train. During the "ninja boom" of the 80s, many people attempted to cash in on the craze and took a very minimal understanding of it and ran with it. At the forefront of the argument is a man named Ashida Kim (aka Chris Hunter, aka Radford W. Davis) who took some "martial arts moves" and tried to call in "ninjitsu". Because of guys like him (as well, admittedly, because of people within our own organizations that put too much emphasis on the "ninja" aspects),

Further, up until recently, Kim/Hunter/Davis made known that the only proper way to spell it is with an "I," which many of us joked about, so the "U" is insisted upon more out of respect for the art. (Please note that the kana for skill [術 - jutsu] is Ji + small yu + tsu or じゅつ. To ignore the small yu does actually change the meaning).

Just figured the truth (jitsu) of the actual content (jitsu) on the subject of skills (jutsu) should be put on record.

    Cheers!
