  1. ninjutsu infact DOES have to do with samurai traditions!!....6 of the 9 ryu (styles) taught in the bujinkan are NOT NINJUTSU. but samurai traditions.

even in the bujinkan its rare to find the true ninjutsu aspects of what they now call budo taijutsu. ninjutsu is only a small part of how they do things.

is it a good martial art?...they are all good for certain things!

yes it is a good martial art...i hear they dont train very much sparring though. but i'm not sure.

you want to learn more about ninjutsu/ninpo.

get books from Stephen K. Hayes, Masaaki Hatsumi...and a few others. Hayes' books are very well written..and he was a top student of Hatsumi.

you can find his books and vids here... http://www.skhquest.com

as far as ninjutsu goes...if its not Bujinkan, Jinenkan, Genbukan, or To Shin Do (stephen hayes' updated ninjutsu art) ....it's probably fake.

  2. Yeah it's a great martial art if you want to be a ninja.  Or a spy for the CIA or Navy Seal.

  3. Ninjutsu had nothing to do with the Samurai. As a practitioner of Bujinkan Ninjutsu I can say that it is a very effective martial art. In fact it is the best martial art I have even taken. It is very effective and very deadly. It is a combat martial art born in the heat of war and honed of the course of 2000 years. Bujinkan is the original Ninjutsu and the true art of the Ninja and it is NOT gone. It wouldn't be allowed in tournaments because of lethal techniques but you can still use some very effective moves in tournament as long as you go easy with them it won't hurt them too bad.

  4. If you're thinking it will make you a ninja, it won't, because it's not that kind of ninjutsu, which is long gone. If you're looking to get into MMA, it isn't the best choice (best choices: Muay Thai or Brazilian Jiu-Jutsu). If you're mainly looking for exercise, I think any martial art is good.

  5. Ninjutsu is for killing, so you most likely wont be going to tournaments at least that is how it is for Bujinkan which are the roots of Ninjusu, ninjutsu branches off into shinobi clans with each clan having their own unique styles.  But if you are looking to learn how to end a fight with one strike (take note that the strike with most likely be fatal) then this martial art is for you.  I would suggest Bujinkan if you are going to take martial arts seriously.  The likely hood of you ever having to use the full potential of Bujinkan in a real situation is slim to none.
