i have a linksys wireless router model WRT54G2 and whenever i try to connect to the internet with my DS it fails because of my security settings . Is there any alternative to changing my security setting like a download or something that will let me connect to WIFI

  1. First of all, what kind of security settings did you enable? If you have enabled WPA instead of WEP, clearly it won't work since the DS does not support WPA.

    Another way you can go around this security issue is to use individual MAC addresses to identify devices that connects to your network instead of relying on WEP, though it can be an additional safety feature.

    The reason is that each machine or device has its unique MAC address assigned to it prior its production. Unless your MAC is in the allowed-list, the device cannot access your network, even if with a proper WEP or WPA password.

    Furthermore, the DS does not use specific ports so there's no need of any port-forwarding.
