  1. The Balance Board comes with extenders so that you can use it on carpets. Ive experimented by using it on a flat surface and then a carpeted area, and got equal results (same weight reading).

I use my Balance Board on the carpet.

  2. A flat surface is ideal, but it still works well with the carpet attachments snapped on.  I haven't noticed any difference for game play on hardwood floors vs. carpet.

    Congrats on the new console!

  3. It has extenders that let you use them on carpets and will not change your weight and BMI reading.

  4. Yes it will, it has attachments for carpet and works perfectly fine.

  5. Of course, this depends on the thickness of the carpet.

For very short carpets, that don't compress (e.g. a rag rug or something similar) it should work.

For a "shag pile" or other very thick and soft carpets, you need either special "feet" for the balance board, or just cut a board from wood to put under the balance board.

The soft carpet will allow the normal feet of the board to sink into the carpet, and the rest of the balance board will lie on the carpet instead of standing on the boards sensor-feet.

This will make weight measuring and sensoring your position on the board difficult or impossible for the balance board.

A wooden board under the balance board will resolve this.
