Nintendo ds Yoshi's island question?

Hey so I bought the Pokemon ds lite limited edition bundle and my first game is yoshis island ds...neway at sum parts theres these purple spotted cubes which you hit and then they enlarge ..what exactly do i do with them?? I cant jump on it or swallow it so what do i do?

they are used for your to jump on so you can reach higher things. you can jump on them, keep trying. while i was playing this game i used this guide to help me, hope it helps you.

You jump on it to get on top of other stuff.
