My 5 year old son wiped his older sister's nintendo ds lite with a wet cloth - I took out the battery and dried and even used a hair dryer to eliminate excess water. Would it work or is it officially DEAD?

  1. yes. Electronics work when you dry everything out. Take a cell phone for instance. If you take it apart and let it air dry it should work when you put it back together. It depends on what level of heat on the hair dryer. Don't use the dryer anymore and take everything apart. Now let it airdry, put it back together, get new batteries, and turn it on. Since you may have heated the parts, it might be dead, or sometimes it's just dead anyway. But depending on your circumstance, I think the air dry should work.

  2. Put the battery back in and see if it turns on, and if the game works without any problem. If it doesnt turn on or the game is messed up when your kid tries to play it, it's screwed. If its dead i would go to the nintendo website adn see if you could get a replacement or get it fixed.

  3. DO NOT USE A HAIR DRYER ANYMORE!!!!! Just let it air dry. The hair dryer could have permenently ruined the system because of over heating prblems. Just let it air dry and it should be fine. Most electronics ill work again once they're completely dryed out.

  4. Try putting the batteries back in to see if it still functions properly and if it doesn't then it's officially dead.
