  1. good points:

    virtual console games for download

    internet enabled

if you pay $10 you can buy an internet browser and a free NES game

    small size

    wireless controller

    bad points

controller has horrible battery life (drains even when off and lasts for 5 days)

quality is pretty bad compared to past nintendo consoles

    (disk read errors) (durability)

less hard core games and more family oriented games

  2. The good points are exhausting, its an amazing system with very interesting games that reach all users. It gets you up and off the couch (which is a plus if you get bored of games that give you butt and neck cramps from sitting down).

The games are GREAT. Wii Fit is probably the only game I can play every day without getting extremely bored, I love it.

The only bad of it is the battery needs kill you. But you can get rechargeable for your wii-motes and its fine. They are relatively inexpensive.

  3. Get a battery pack for about 10 quid (charges via USB)

Key to WII Fit - play it at least a few times a week - keep it up.

  4. Ditto everything Patient Paws said.

It's so much fun I'm beside myself.  The Wii is plenty of fun when I just need to entertain myself, but it's also become a focal point in my exercise and social lives.  I used to get people over through grand (read: expensive) parties and activities.  Now I can have three people over whenever I choose just by saying, "Hey, we're playing (boom blox/mario kart/raving rabbids/wario ware) tonight, care to join us?

The downsides are minor.  It's a battery hog and has very low system memory for downloadable games.  It tends to sap my wallet because there are too many good games out.  If you're a big Halo fan, you know which system is for you.  Ditto if you like to think you have "the best" in computing power and graphics without dropping a grand or two on a gaming PC.  For a louder, wackier brand of fun the wii is IT.

For me, the really bad points are that spore and civilization revolution have been canceled for wii.  *sigh*  I was looking forward to those!

More games like Wii Fit are coming.  You can play DDR on any system and that's a good aerobic workout, but the casual exercise games market has only just begun!

  5. I've had mine for a year and enjoy everything about it.  It makes you move around and get really involved in the games you're playing.
