is there a cheat way to gget more than 3 dogs on nintendogs?

No, but there is a way to get more then three dogs.

Go to the Kennel, and put a couple of your dogs in the doggie hotel. Then you can buy more dogs, and switch your dogs in and out. You can hold, I think two dogs, in the doggie hotel so you can then have five dogs. =) You might be able to hold more though...not exactly sure. =)
