  1. Yes it works. I started doing it because my contractions were really far apart for a long time (20 min) and I wanted to speed things up. I would not do it until you body is ready and already showing signs of going into labor.

  2. Well I had to do that when I was preggo with my daughter. It took about 30 min for my labor to start. It does work and it is painful once those contractions start. I am only 19 weeks preggo with my 3rd and I will probably have to do the same thing again. But trust me it works and those contractions does hurt. I had to stop because it hurted so bad.

  3. Nipple stimulation does help induce labor, but if your body isn't ready it won't work. You can use a breast pump or nipple stirring to help kick start contractions. Once you are far enough along it will start contractions, but they might go away once you stop.

  4. from my experience on the labor and delivery floor...people who try to induce labor naturally because they have to be induced anyway...like to try nipple stimulation..it releases oxytocin..which also releases your milk...along with that..oxytocin is a uterine stimulant..this is why breast feeding moms commonly complain of cramping after delivery and during breastfeeding...because your body is releasing oxytocin to let your milk down.

i have seen this work in as little as 20 minutes on the floor..some women may take longer..other people it just never works for at all.

i, however, DON'T recommend this if you are not term...term is 37 to 42 weeks...if you are miserable at that point..you can try this..but consult with your doctor first
