Nisaal aiming the second seasonal victory in the Parklands Golf Club Handicap Hurdle at Newcastle
Newcastle is to become home for the Class 5 Parklands Golf Club Handicap Hurdle over two miles and four furlongs on Friday, 30th March. The race has attracted a lineup of twelve four-year and older thoroughbreds.
From among the lineup, boosting with just the right credentials is Nisaal, Indian Ridge’s seven-year-old bay gelding out of mare Kahalah, has already struck the seasonal victory.
Through the four starts that he has made, Nisaal missed three and then bagged a victory through the very recent one.
He cracked into the season by taking part in the Betfair Racing Excellence Conditional Jockeys’ Training Series Handicap Hurdle on 23rd January at Wetherby over two miles and four furlongs.
Shan Valley won the race with Jeremiah McGrath onboard while the two led by three and a half length. Settling right next to the winner was Nisaal and coming at terms with the third position was Legbeforewicket.
The 7/2 favourite of the race, Prince Blackthorn, finished fifth on the track of ten.
The next two starts were unfortunate with a sixth and then fourth position.
On 23rd March, Nisaal won the Betfair Racing Excellence Conditional Jockeys’ Training Series Handicap Hurdle at Sedgefield over two miles and four furlongs.
Nisaal enjoyed a length’s command on the field of eight while riding with Gary Rutherford. Finishing the race closest to him was Jamaddji who was seventeen lengths adrift from the 11/4 favourite of the race, Along Came Rosie, who settled into the third slot.
Winning a bit late into the season will want him to win again and he has all the reason to win a second time into the new season.
Another note worthy entry on the lineup is Bilbo Boggart, Imperial Ballet’s eight-year-old bay gelding out of mare Skatt. Although he did not win, Bilbo Boggart’s seasonal debut was at Newcastle.
He came sixth in the Malones Novices’ Hurdle on 17th March at Newcastle over two miles. The race was won by Rock Relief while the 15/8 favourite followed right in as the runner up.
Settling third in the race was Smart Ruler.
Bilbo Boggert has been winless throughout his career and today just might be his chance for striking the long sought victory.
