Nishioka and the Twins praise each other as negotiations continue
Major League Baseball is about to hit December and while the off season hits a new drive in the coming days, leading up to the winter meetings, speculation is gaining momentum in the free agency. Ball Clubs are trying their best to get the top crop of stars
from the market and while deals are expected to vent into upstream negotiations, people expect high number valuations on ball players with A - Type markings. The spring training session is expected to commence in February and there are not many weeks left
for the major league season to get a preview in the coming months.
The Minnesota Twins are looking to add value to their roster and it comes as no surprise to see the club bidding for players scattered across the continent. Latin America and the Japanese island are places where quality players do exist. They’re considerably
cheap but have certain problems on adapting to the conditions prevalent in the United States. For many clubs, however, adaption can be handled in the spring season and that is why top teams in the Major League are bidding for foreign stars.
One of the latest bids made outside the country has been for Japanese shortstop, Tsuyoshi Nishioka. The player has been one of the highly rated stars to come out of the Japan Series and it shouldn’t be discounted on his part. The infielder helped the Chiba
Lotte Marines clinch their title in the Japan Series and earned the Most Valuable Player award. In addition he’s won accolades equivalent of the Gold Glove awards. Minnesota has won the rights to negotiate a contract with him and he was recently praised by
the Vice President, Bill Smith.
"He's a good player and he would be a good fit in our organization." Bill continued on to specify where Nishioka would be needed, by saying, "I think the middle infield is the only place left where we could change that a little bit."
The Japanese star has been compared to Ichiro Suzuki for achieving 206 hits in a season, which hasn’t been done since a long time. However, he enjoys the possibility of moving to Minneapolis and he’s been praising the Twins consistently. When the winning
bid was announced recently, Nishioka went on to tell the reporters that, "The Twins are a team who are in playoff contention each year. I wanted to go to a strong team."
