Hey who out there owns a Nissan 350z? I am interested in buying one, but with rising gas prices I'm not sure that I could afford one. How is gas on your 350z? 350z owners only answer please I want to know from a owners view how gas mileage really is, thanks

  1. I've owned 2 350z's.  My first was an '06 automatic coupe.  I averaged about 19mpg around town and 25mpg on road trips.

my second 350z that I have now is an '04 convertible manual and I get about 20-21mpg around town and 27mpg on the highway.

Automatics gets worse mpg and convertibles are heavier so they get worse gas mileage.  If you get the best of both, hard top manual, I would guess it would be very possible to pull 22mpg around town and 28-29mpg on the highway.

The 350z has a built in computer that tells you what your mpg is, and i've checked it and verified it is accurate.  Anyone stating they are getting over 30mpg with this car is obviously just resetting this computed average while they are on the highway and stating what it shows after 15-30 minutes.  This is not accurate b/c mpg fluctuates with incline or decline of road and wind conditions.  Its easy to get 45mpg when you are going downhill :).  My averages I posted above are from road trips over 300 miles for my highway calculation and about a week of daily driving around town for city mpg.

  2. My friend has one.

They require premium gas like all Nissan V6 engines.

My friend gets 35mpg is he puts it on cruise control at 55mph.

    He averages 23mpg.

He puts $20 in the tank every other day and drives avout 20-40 min per day.

The Nissan website said it gets 18mpg city and 26mpg highway for the manual transmission.

The manual transmission car is lighter, faster, and better on gas than the Automtic transmission.

  3. Under hard driving around town idleing you can get as bad as 14 miles a gallon however once on the Highway in 6th gear expect around 27 miles a gallon. Some owners brag that they can get 30 mpg. Not with my heavy right foot.
