  1. An 92 R34 RB20DETT is one of the best Skylines out there!

  2. I'd guess the tuned R34 models would be the best (nur spec and etc.). It's probably the best of every one of your questions but geez it is not amazingly fast in production form it has just as much horsepower as any other Japanese ~3 liter 6 cylinder sports car from its time.

  3. the r32

  4. WTF? Skyline is cheap??? Are you crazy?

Nissan Skyline is actually expensive to get overseas.

R32 R34 are a kind of legendary popular cars.

Better research before making such a ignorant comment.

  5. according to the bbc show, top gear, the r32's brakes were prone to explode after a few years, could not confirm if it's true. their conclusion was the r33 is the best compromise because you get the most bang for your buck. the r34 is obviously the best, yet the r33 costs significantly less and is fairly reliable.

they were all made to be modified, the great thing about skylines and supras is the strength of the stock components. you can add bigger turbos without worrying about changing fuel pumps, radiators, intercoolers, alternators. they were built to be modded/chipped. a stock r34 could be reliably chipped to 450hp+ without changing a single component (except ecu). if you want cheap performance aim for older evo's/sti's, i own a 95 sti and it gives me similar performance to stock (unchipped) skylines, without the price.

  6. All this depends where you live where iam Skylines are pretty cheap and can be bought all over the place in my town alone there are now 5 R33'S and 1 R32.

Each model offers its own tunable engine and caters for each need and each budget,IE the RB20DE engines come as twin and single can and are very good engines and make good mpg engines with good power figures for the engine it is.The RB20det engine also offers a great tuning option with a starting block of around 215bhp and can be tunes to high figures, then there is the RB25de engine again another great engine very strong and see's stock bhp figures of around 200bhp and can take a small turbo with other mods to increase bhp to a good figure.

Then there is the RB25det engine which is a strong engine and offers a single turbo set up as with the RB20det engines. The RB25det is very tunable and with the GTS-T GTT models of skylines being half the price and less to the GTR range these are a popular car and with this the RB25det tuning begins being so popular, again these engines see some great power figures and the stock turbo is very strong and with a new aftermarket turbo or just basic mods these engines see some high bhp figures.

The RB26dett engine is the daddy engine with a twin turbo set up which see's actual running power of round 330bhp and not the 276bhp Nissan had to put on paper.Actual running of these engines is around 500bhp stock and over 1000bhp with mods, but running figures of most of the range differs from paper,my RB25det is faster than on paper to 0-60 and the same with top speed, this is common with many Japanese cars.Tuning wise the RB26dett is very tunable although is a costly engine out of them all.

Other options are the RB30 engines which didn't come stock fitted and allow tuners some higher figures.

Which Skyline now this depends on your needs and budget also the R32 is very nippy and feels super fast around town and offers sideways fun at every corner, the rear space is large for a coupe and a huge trunk space.Great cars and still look great and there are some great examples still out there.

The R33 is heavier than the R32 and does feel it on the bends although still loves sideways action and comes to life more than the R32 on an open road.Rear space is more than the R32 although loses some trunk space due to the battery etc being in the trunk, but is still roomy enough for a monthly shop.

R34 wise is similar to the R33 and offers great rear leg room and an over great car. With the RB25det engine running higher stock than the RB25det fitted inthe R33 range with the stock bhp being 280bhp.

Fastest are the GTR range although do not knock the others as said each offers a tunable engine and with the RB engines they can take a lot of punishment.

The GTR comes as a 4 seater against the other which are a 5 seater.

All models come as 2 door and 4 door also an auto box on some models which is a great sporty box which offers instant power when touched to high revs, with the aid of overdrive a rev hold and power button to allow redline changes makes these boxes really good. The R34 comes also as a triptronic .

Versions also come as a 2 and 4 door and even a station wagon being the stagea.

Which one is best depends on your budget and needs easiest to mod again depends on your budget there are plenty of aftermarket parts for any of them and Nissan still stock R32 parts.

Where do you live to edit places that's sell them like.

  7. for one thing skylines are nothing but cheap, you can get a rwd gts version for around $25,000+. the awd GTR's are gonna cost more than 60k. and the new skyline gtr is gonna cost around 100,000. your better off buying a used evo or sti. there pretty fast and have good torque.
