Question:

Nissan Xterra VDC/SLIP lights on?

I installed an aftermarket stereo, and of course I had to disconnect the negative ground. Everything went fine but after the VDC/SLIP lights came on. Turns out this is a normal thing when you disconnect the battery, and according to the manual you reset it by driving in a straight line for 10 minutes, I did this yesterday and it did not reset.

Is there some kind of trick to this, I will give it one more shot before going to the dealer. Around what do they charge to reset this if so?

  1. I bet if you take it to where you purchased it and ask nice thery will reset the vdc and slip light under warranty. Nissan needs to reset the steering angle sensor to dead ahead posistion to 0 degrees.

  2. Have a similar situation on my 08 Pathfinder. If turn off the ignition and restart, the slip light will go out, then after a few minutes I can turn the VCD light off with the button.
