  1. For an automobile or light truck, no point at all unless you have extra money to blow on nothing

Very heavy construction equipment sometimes use nitrogen in their tires because of the tremendous heat buildup, and extreme pressure, especially in the huge dump trucks and loaders used in open pit mining.

It is just a new scam some tire stores are trying to convince people they need to do, there is absolutely no advantage in average applications. Your ties will not last any longer, your car will not handle a bit differently, your safety factor will not change.

You dont have any way of knowing if they put nitrogen in there anyway, and if you get a low tire, you cant carry a canister of nitrogen in your trunk to fill it back up.

Save your money and buy some extra gas.

  2. ive heard that the nitro will expand and contract less in temperature changes and also will not leak out as easily and helps prevent dry rot~ they now date tires from the date of manufacture to help you know when its time for new tires
