Nivedha Srinivasan surges into Girl’s Singles U15 final at Puducherry State Badminton Championship
India’s budding player Nivedha Srinivasan stretched her winning run and surged into Girl’s Singles U15 final after putting up strong show in semi-final battle when she thrashed T. Kirthana at 31st Puducherry State Badminton Championship – III
Phase on Saturday, August 11, in India.
The impressive Nivedha, who has been placed at the top in Girl’s Singles main draw of the championship, delivered a phenomenal performance on court and easily stamped her mark over Kirthana in a dominating way.
The higher ranked Nivedha was too strong in all aspects of the game while playing against the un-seeded Kirthana and she remained successful in finishing off the match in straight games with a comprehensive margin.
The lower ranked Kirthana, in the meanwhile, was helpless against the top quality game of her in-form challenger. She remained struggling in the entire battle and eventually bowed down against Nivedha without making a good use of her remarkable skills.
In the first set, Nivedha started her journey in a dominating and aggressive manner as she played with complete control and took a wonderful lead at the early stage.
The in-form Nivedha played positive badminton as her strokes landed in right areas and she managed to take a comfortable lead until the end of first half.
After the break, Nivedha continued showing her lofty craft without letting her rival to narrow the gap on score board.
The top seeded Nivedha remained in commanding position and she did not face any problem in take the first game with a stunning 21-8 margin on the score board.
In the second game, Kirthana gave a good fight in opening rallies aiming to stop the aggression of her higher ranked opponent.
However, Nivedha geared up her speed and pushed her rival on back foot to set up a superb gap until the break.
The aggressive Nivedha continued her fabulous play on court without losing her focus at any stage and easily finished off the game with an eight-point margin of 21-13.
The top seeded Nivedha won this Girl’s Singles U15 match in a lopsided fashion by a staggering 21-8 and 21-13 score on the board.
