Nizakat Khan of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hong-Kong-c2919 helped his side to a fighting total of 237 in their match of the ICC World Cricket League Division Two against Namibia at the ICC Global Cricket Academy in Dubai on Thursday.
Captain of the Hong Kong team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Najeeb-Amar-c78525 elected to bat first after winning the toss. The conditions were perfect for batting, as there was no pace in the wicket and the bounce was even. However, the Asian team could not get a good start to their innings.
Opener Roy Lamsam was unable to find the middle of his bat and was dismissed for a 13-ball duck. He was followed by the first-drop Hussain Butt, who was sent back to the pavilion off the very first ball he faced.
Mark Chapman walked out in the middle to join opening batsman Courtney Kruger. The pair put together 41 runs for the third wicket, but majority of the runs came off the bat of Chapman, who got out after scoring 31 runs from 42 balls.
Kruger crawled to 15 runs off 70 balls with the help of 1 four. He was struggling to time the ball and looked completely out of sorts. The Hong Kong opener finally got out in the 24th over of the innings.
The lower-order also failed to make an impression, as none of the batsmen was able to stay at the crease for longer periods. However, Nizakat Khan did not find any problems in scoring runs freely. He played a splendid innings of 95 runs from 94 balls before
he was dismissed in the final over of the innings. The middle-order player struck 7 fours and 3 towering sixes in his knock.
The Namibian bowlers gave away 31 extras, which helped the Asian team to post a fighting target.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Louis-Klazinga-c73186 was exceptional with the ball for his team, as he took a five-for. However, he went for a few runs in his last couple of overs and finished with figures of 5/50. Louis van der Westhuizen was also impressive in his five-over spell, taking 2
wickets for 19 runs.
