No Australian cricketer involved in Match-fixing, believes Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 – Cricket News Update
The Australian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mazhar-c75448 Majeed’s claims about Aussie players’ involvement in Match-fixing.
During the ongoing hearing of the spot-fixing case of three Pakistani players, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salman-Butt-c2418, the sports agent made a few shocking claims, saying that Australia’s top cricketers are "the biggest" culprits.
He named the former captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nathan-Bracken-c2068 as his close connections and said that he had access to both players.
Mazhar’s allegations sparked a hot debate among the cricketing circles across the globe. Australia’s current vice-captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558, asked his former skipper and Bracken to clear their names while Ponting’s manager dismissed alleged Bookie’s statement
of having any links with the veteran batsman.
Bracken also stepped up and threatened legal actions against Mazhar whose links with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 trio have established.
Joining the Bandwagon, Clarke insisted that the Kangaroos have no ties with the Match-fixers and Mazhar’s claims are unfounded.
"For me personally, it's not the Australian way. Never in my time have I experienced a conversation with anybody about any such thing,” said Clarke while talking to local media before leaving for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757.
"There's obviously been a couple of occasions when guys have been approached and that's been reported to our team manager and the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 ... so all the boys in the Australian team are aware that it is happening, it is going on. But it's never involved me and
I'm very confident it's never involved any of the Australian players," added Australia's Test and One-Day skipper, who took over the charge from Ponting after Australia’s dismal show in the ICC World Cup 2011.
The Aussies are currently on the tour to South Africa, where the side will play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and a couple of Tests after the ongoing two-match Twenty20 series.
Clarke is confident about his team’s ability to crush the strong South African side, saying that the recent controversy about national players’ possible involvement in the corruption will not put any pressure on the side since the claims are baseless.
