No Bad Blood between Graeme Swann and Kevin Pietersen insists Andy Flower – Cricket News Update
England Head Coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806, despite Swann criticizing KP in his new book.
Pietersen was named captain of the English team in 2008, however his tenure was a turbulent one, which led to a public spat between him and then head coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-Moores-c81848.
The middle-order batsman recommended to the board that Moores was not the right man for the job and he is only good at county level, a notion which became so public that the management decided to sack the two from their respective roles.
Swann in the “Breaks Are Off” wrote about the incident and criticized his fellow teammate of not being a natural leader.
After that incident, ECB appointed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964 as the skipper of the team and along with Flower, they embarked on turning the fortunes of the side. Since then, the Poms have assembled into a formidable line-up, which over powered the Australians and Indians
to claim Test dominancy.
Shortly after the launch of the book, Swann, with the rest of the squad have travelled to the subcontinent to face the Men In Blue, where many believed that his remarks would affect the team spirit.
However, Flower has turned down any disharmony in the squad while praising KP for handling the situation in a professional manner.
"I personally don't think that it's a good idea for current players to be talking about their fellow players," Flower was quoted as saying by 'The Daily Mail'."The written word does come across very, very differently - when you can't judge a person's tone
- and particularly with Swann's words, that is an accurate and important point."
"It's all been handled in-house - without many problems. Pietersen and Swann get on well, and I think Pietersen has handled it very maturely," he said.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 coach also believes that such remarks should be made public only after retirement.
The tourists have lost the first One Day match and will look to bounce back when they play http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780.
