The Partenopei player’s agent dismisses all rumours of the wing-backs imminent move to the London Blues; insists the defender’s extension till 2017 with the Azzurri says it all.
Christian Maggio’s representative has dismissed the rising speculation that the striker is on the way to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, and reveals that the player has a lasting commitment to Napoli.
The former Sampdoria man is being strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but the rumour has no ground according to the agent.
The representative to the defender stated that they have no information of any such approach by the London club. He insisted that the fact that the player has recently signed an extension of his contract with Napoli to last till 2017 is enough to state that
the player wants to stay with the current club.
While talking to TMW, Massimo Briaschi said:
“We have no information about such claims. He has only just recently extended his contract until 2017 and that says a lot. Actually, that says it all.”
The representative went on to say that the defender is very clear in his plans for the future, and that does not include a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. The spokesperson insisted that if the situation was anything otherwise, the player will not have extended his contract
with Napoli to last another five seasons.
“Actually, that says it all. Maggio has a clear idea about his future and that is to remain at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003. If that wasn’t the case then he would have looked to run down his previous agreement with the Azzurri.”
Napoli’s spectacular performances this season have attracted a lot of interest, from not just the fans but also top clubs looking to buy the stars of the aggressive team. However, the club president has explicitly stated that he does not intends to make
the club a farm for giants of European football, and wants to consolidate the strength of the team for progressive performances in the following seasons.
Maggio is viewed as an integral part of the squad at the Stadio San Paolo, and has scored three goals in the 27 league appearances for the Azzurri, so far this season.
