Question:

No Connection to Virgin Media Wireless?

I have one of Virgin Media's NetGear Wireless Routers. it is connected to my PC by the LAN cable using Ethernet and the internet works on the PC fine (its what i'm using right now). But when i want to use my laptop wirelessly it can find my Wireless Router, but when it tries to connect it just says "Unable to Connect to the Wireless Network".

It was working fine a week ago! it connected and everything ok and i was using the internet on my laptop, but now it has stopped. i have tried turning everything off for an hour and then rebooting a few times and it doesn't seem to have solved the problem.

Its annoying because it can find it with a really strong signal but just wont connect.

Any Ideas?

  1. Probably the quickest way to fix this is to delete this connection from your Network connections window and run the wireless network wizard again to rebuild it from scratch.  If you are not using the Microsoft wireless wizard then you need to find out what utility was provided by the laptop manufacturer to connect to wireless networks.

On my Sony Vaio it is called SmartWi connection utility.

You will need to have the WPA/WPA2 encryption key you created on the router in order to finalize this wireless connection.
