No DVD decoder on HP Compac NC6000

Hi there,I have recently acquired a HP Compac NC6000 laptop and when i insert a regular DVD i get the message saying "no DVD decoder". Can anyone assist me on the best way to solve this so i can play DVDs?Many thnaks.
