No De Lange for Titans in CLT20 – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757’s fast bowler Marchant de Lange, on Tuesday withdrew from the Champions League T20 tournament due to a lower back stress fracture, he had sustained in June this year.
The 21-year-old fast bowler from Limpopo was due to represent Titans in the latest edition of the CLT20, which will be held in South Africa between October 9 and 28, 2012. But the stress fracture in his lower back, which is currently in the final stages of the rehabilitation, forced him to pull out.
De Lange had sustained the lower back injury during the Twenty20 tri-series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 later this year.
He has been rehabilitating under the supervision of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Titans-c856 physiotherapist Ian Repton, and has recently started some gym work as well.
"We did another scan when he came home and we found that he had a stress fracture of the lower back so we had to start a new process," Repton told ESPNcricinfo on Tuesday. "He has been through the whole program but we only expect him to be ready to play by the time the domestic one-day competition starts," he added further.
Besides Repton, Titans coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Allan-Anthony-Donald-c43680 and high performance manager Vincent Barnes are closely assessing the rehabilitation of the young fast bowler to ensure he makes a successful return to international cricket.
"Where we are at the moment is that we have been sent some information from Allan and we’re waiting on more footage before we will know if anything needs to be changed with Marchant's action," Cricket South Africa’s high performance manager http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vincent-Alexander-Barnes-c95319 told the media reporters. "It's a slow process but we want to make sure he’s properly ready," he insisted.
The rookie speedster has to date played two Tests, two T20 Internationals and an ODI for the Proteas. After recovering completely from the injury, the right-arm seamer will also undergo an examination of his bowling action to check if anything needs to be done to prevent similar problems in future.
