Question:

No-Fee Passport Question?

Okay I gotta come up here and ask because I don't know where I can get a number to get help. We (me n kids) applied for our no-fee passports 2 1/2 weeks ago, and on Monday the passport office received the package with only my passport in it, and accompanied by a letter that says my hubby needs to do up a new consent form for all of them because one of the forms had him signed 2 days prior to it being notarized. Does this make sense? I thought the notary has to witness you signing any document before they sign and notarize it. Can someone give me a number of a person I can contact at passport office so I can get things moving along? Any help I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

  1. I can't answer this any better than what's been said. I did want to mention that I'm VERY glad that your no fee passport only took two and a half weeks, I just went and applied for mine. I need it in about a month and am really hoping it comes quickly, I hope mine comes in as little time as yours did. Have fun with wherever you're moving to =]

  2. What it means is that your dh signed the document before it was notarized there fore the notary could not verify that it was his signature.

You have to get him to sign the date again or if it was the wrong date then take it back to the person who notarized it and have them change it.  The passport office/personnel can do nothing for you really unless you have the proper forms.

That is good it only took 2 1/2 weeks, last year it was take 3 to 4 months.

  3. If your military call your base's mpf and they can help you. If you are not then look on USPS.COM then search for passport and that can help

So are you using the mpf?
