What happens is I have no health insurance and am in a coma of sorts and in the care of a hospital, who will be paying the bills? Esp. because I can't sign for them(coma) , will my children have to have to pay for my medical expense?

And what if I needed surgery and am in an unconscious state. Who will pay for the bills if I can't sign for them myself. Will my children bear the bill if they make the decision to go ahead with the surgery?

Any recommendations about getting low cost health insurance for a 59 year old and not in the greatest of health condition?

Health care coverage for the low and middle class in America is just terrible. In need of much reform.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

  1. I'm trying to sort out what you want to know.

First, you need a health care power of attorney--or more than one--rank ordered. You need serious discussions with them so they can act for you if you WERE to be unable to speak for yourself. Those people need to be adults.

At 59, you qualify for AARP health insurance:

Middle class America has NO safety net and the system does need reform so it's a shame that NONE of the candidates are addressing the actual problems in health care but waste time on UHC nonsense.

  2. You did not say what your income level is. Have to tried to sign for medicaid?
