Question:

No John Starks on Team USA?

I was looking at John Starks career highlights in youtube and I was very impressed. Why was he never chosen for any USA Basketball Team? Like the 1994 Toronto World Championships Team of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Team. However, I know he was not good enough to be on the original 1992 Barcelona Olympics Dream Team.

It's a pity. He should have been considered for either of those teams. I guess he was not good enough to represent the USA?

  1. He wasnt really that good..

  2. I don't know, I mean he was really good but that was such an elite team in 1992 or 1994

  3. There were a lot of talented guards back then thta's probably one reason why. Stockton dominated the point, Tim hardaway was an emerging all star and of course in the sg position there's jordan, penny etc.

  4. He was never really a top star.  He was a 1 time all-star, in the years Jordan wasn't there, and was usually a sixth man even on the Knicks.

He was a very good defender though.  But back then, the US didnt need lock down defenders.

  5. Starks was a good dunker, good clutch player.

    But other than that?

  6. Are you serious? I mean, John Starks?  He didn't make it because there were about 30 people better than him at the time.  He's like the 800th best player ever.  John Starks?
