No NOC for Kamran Akmal to play Bangladesh league
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied an NOC to wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal for playing league cricket in Bangladesh and has instead advised the player to play domestic cricket in Pakistan.
The wicketkeeper has been ignored by the selection committee for Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand, and there are rumours that he may also be neglected for the squad of the 2011 World Cup.
The discarded player wanted to go to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 to play some league cricket because for as long as the tour of New Zealand proceeds, Akmal won’t be required for selection. But he has faced yet another disappointing response from the country’s cricket board
which has refused to give him permission to go to Bangladesh.
Kamran’s current exclusion from the national team has come after the infamous bookie/player’s agent http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mazhar-c75448 Majeed revealed the names of five more Pakistani players involved in spot-fixing, these players include Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Wahab
Riaz and Imran Farhat.
Imran Farhat and Umar Akmal immediately started looking into the options of taking some sort of a legal action against Majeed, while later Kamran also joined in with them.
Akmal was also suspected of having some involvement in the spot-fixing drama this year in England but later he was cleared by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Scotland-c756 Yard and the International Cricket Council. After this debacle, PCB has been hesitant in selecting players that might
be suspected of any wrong doings by the ICC.
Pakistan Chief Selector http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754. But on the other hand the wicketkeeper maintains that he received
the clearance letter from the International Cricket Council and now excluding him from the squad on the behest of match-fixing is not appropriate.
Pakistan’s strength has been severely compromised due to the spot-fixing scam, which has forced the expulsion of three key players Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif on suspicions of their involvement in this heinous crime. Although, the other
five players including Kamran Akmal are not facing any official charges but still the ICC has expressed some reservations over their roles in this matter, which is causing their exclusion from the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 national squad.
